SAUDI ARABIA - WORK / EMPLOYMENT VISA

At STAMP A VISA, we are closely monitoring the regulatory changes introduced by the Saudi Arabian government and Aramco, from the onset of 2025. These updates significantly impact visa requirements and Saudization policies, particularly for contractors and personnel working in rig and industrial sectors.

To help you remain compliant and avoid operational delays, please review the following key changes:

Mandatory Visa Update

Personnel can no longer enter rigs using a Business Visa. A Work / Employment Visa is now required for all rig-related entries, in alignment with new security and labor regulations.

Saudization Policy Requirements

Contractors and companies must comply with the following:

  • Labor Law & Aramco Contract Compliance - Ensure hiring practices align with Saudi legal frameworks and contractual terms.
  • Mandatory Hiring of Saudi Nationals - Certain positions must be filled by Saudis to support the Vision 2030 initiative.
  • 70% Saudization Threshold - Companies must maintain a workforce composition of at least 70% Saudi nationals in designated sectors.
  • Restricted Work Categories - Roles in HR, Accounting, Engineering, Sales, Legal, Customer Care, and Healthcare are strictly reserved for Saudi nationals.

Work Permit Conditions for Non-Saudi Workers

Before employment, non-Saudi personnel must:

  • Obtain a Work or Employment Visa from the Ministry of Labor.
  • Enter Saudi Arabia legally and be authorized to work.
  • Possess skills not readily available among local talent.
  • Be under a sponsoring employer's contract.
  • Complete the Mandatory Qualification Verification Program as part of visa processing.
